They were one of Athens' best known singing groups and were students at UGA during their band days. They performed in Athens for two years, doing southern beach music, especially songs made popular by the Drifters, Tams, Coasters and other groups.
Both Dirk and Tony were from Athens and formed their duo while students at Athens High School. "We got together one night at a party, we started singing, and we thought we could make some money." According to Tony, "It's the best way to work your way through college, we're having a ball."
