Members were students at Dentsville High School and Eau Claire High School in Columbia SC (Don and Carl went to Eau Claire). The band played from 1966 through 1969. Additional horn section added were Bobby Fowler saxophone and Chocky Burnette trumpet.
After a few members joined the military the band later became Five Pound Smile. Music selection was mostly East Coast Beach music and top 40 songs. The group played at local clubs in Columbia SC, D' Scene on Taylor Street and the Music Box on Rosewood Drive. The band also played and practiced at the Teen Club at Ft. Jackson. The band played at the Music Box on the same show as the Box Tops who had hit recordings, The Letter and Cry Like A Baby. The group played at Casa-Rena Lounge in Sumter SC and played at Universities of South Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia
The band also backed up Jackie Wilson at the Upstairs-Downstairs club in Spartanburg SC circa 1968 and backed up Peaches and Herb at Newberry in SC.
