Heavy Traffic
was formed in Pearson, Georgia in the mod-1970's. Original members
were Gary Sirmans (guitar), Stephen Tanner (drums), Michael Wright
(drums) and Steve Bennett (bass guitar).
The band
played for teen functions around the area including regular
appearances at the Rat Hole in Pearson.
In 1979,
Steve left the band and Freddie Landrum (lead guitar) and Stacy
Sirmans (keyboards) joined the band.
Favorite
playing venues were the Fernbank and the Holiday Inn in Douglas,
Georgia although the band played area from Douglas to Atlanta to
Myrtle Beach.
The band
opened for several shows at Holiday Beach, including Juice Newton and
Dr. Hook.
Stephen left
the band in the early 1980's and Mike Hattaway was added on drums. The
band played until the end of 1986.
Stacy joined
the Bushmen a couple of years later (1989).
